The fourth house on the Palm Springs Modern Home Tour was Michael Berman’s house designed by the Unknown Architect. Now, Unknown Architect is one of my favorite designers. He seems to have such a diverse portfolio. Not to mention what a big career change since his work in the television industry.

Michael Berman is a rather well known designer so, of course, the woman knew who he was and got a neat tour of a few brilliant features of the home while I was taking pictures of a plate of golf balls. Notice a pattern? Anyway, this house is a very beautiful “L” shape that creates a very private courtyard for a pool and sitting area. The living room was floor to ceiling windows overlooking this simply stunning courtyard.

IMG_0783Have I mentioned how stunning the courtyard was? It was stunning. Vocabulary, Swede! Mindpower!

The interior, as you would expect, was beautifully decorated and the house just lent itself to be so. So very open. A neat twist was the enclosed area in the bathroom off of the main entrance. Behind a glass wall set a small statue in a totally enclosed area. With an open skylight. And no obvious method of entrance. Flyover mind kicking in, it asks, what do you do when it fills with leaves? Or snow fills up? Yeah.
