Today's photographic itinerary called for the use of my telephoto lens, so off to the park I went. There have to be some birds or something far away around! Nope. Oh sure there were a couple pecking about the underbrush, creating their squeak and cracks but remaining unseen. I am certain they have something to hide, like bomb building or white slavery. Watch out.
Foiled, I broke out the trusty 30mm prime and went to town with the flora. I will actually state for the record that I really like these shots. If you are a regular reader of this blog (of which there is only me–my blogging is much like talking to myself only it takes pictures and I have to pay for hosting space) you may have seen these particular trees and hibiscus plants before. Now you get to see them in the snow to compare to the fall's dreariness.
The waterfall is Paine Falls in Leroy Township. It is a very little park that I have driven past for years and never stopped. Today I did and took some really mediocre photos, only one HDR composite being worth the photons with which they were painted. But I like that one as well.
So, in all, a good day photographing albeit not to the plan.
